Well the rains have returned.  Yesterday was foggy in the morning and beautiful the rest of the day.  Today actually started out ok but by afternoon it started raining.  Really can't complain, we've had a long warm summer.  Here it is the end of September already.  After all this is what the Pacific Northwest is known for.  I spent a fun day yesterday with my daughters, celebrating two of our birthdays.  We wondered the Pearl District in Portland, shopped a little, ate and drank a little, laughed a little and had a great time together.  One more birthday to go,  I think we might go for a hike.   If you get a chance check out my shop on Zazzle .  I just added some new items today with a pair of doodled ballet shoes.   Finished a little recycled jewel box this week and another three doodled, recycled candlestick birdhouses.   I've added both items to my She Who Doodles Etsy shop. Working on another jewel b...

Etsy Store

Image
Just added some new doodle items to my Etsy Shop .  Wearable art, my original hand drawn doodles on glass tiles.  I actually draw the doodle with black pen (Zig Writer) on the glass then glue on a backing and seal with a ceramic glaze.  Attach a bail to the back of the tile and hang from ribbons, cord or leather.  Some with added bling some just plain and simple. Check them out, they've been fun to work on.  The only real challenge is the size of the tile I am using to doodle on.  A little tight on space. I have 6 finished and another 6 in the works.  No two are the same.  I've been experimenting with beads, and different cords, ribbons and clasp.  I'm hoping they take off, so far I have 2 posted to Etsy and hope to get 2 more added today.  My biggest problem is getting good photos.  Still trying different settings and lighting. Hope you are busy creating today.  Thanks for visiting. Hugs Cyndee

Her first WOYWW

Image
I thought it was time to step out with She Who Doodles so thought I would join in WOYWW, over at Julia's Stamping Ground.   Julie host this web hop every Wednesday, check it out, come join in.  It's a chance to show off your workspace and see where other artist work. So here's my workdesk today,  only a small snippet of the space but wanted to show the Valentine cards I'm working on.  This is just one of the designs,  I have 2 others I hope to get printed and posted to my Etsy Store for She Who Doodles by the end of the week. Check out my shop at Etsy to see the verse I used in the card.  I like to keep them kinda generic so the card could be given to anyone.  So many valentines have mushy lovey verses that aren't suitable to give to a friend.  So I found some whimsical little verses that hopefully will put a smile on the receivers face. Thanks for visiting, now hop on over to Julia's to see what everyone else is up to. Hugs Cyndee ...

Screen Printed Shirts

Image
Finally got my shirts back from the screen printers and they turned out great.    These are going straight to my Etsy Shop at She Who Doodles.   The first batch is always the most expensive to have printed.  Once the screens are set up the actual print per shirt charge is pretty minimal.  If these sell well I will need to find a source for a better price shirts.  So far I've just picked up what I could find retail.  They were fun to do and the ideas for the next ones are already on my mind.  I have a couple of guys that ask if I had any large sizes, I though they were a little feminine but I could change the design a little to accommodate.   My honey bought a plain white shirt he wants me to hand doodle.  So I guess I'll see what I can come up with.  I find myself looking at other clothing items with an eye for doodling.  I guess there is no limit to what I can put my doodles on.   Thanks for ...

Ready for the screenprinter

Image
Finally got a shirt design on paper, just need to get it scanned and sent to the screen printers.  Got shirts, bold colors.  It seems so easy to draw the design on the shirts, I really struggled getting it on paper.    Hopefully I'll have these added to Etsy for sale within the next couple of weeks.  I bought an array of sizes but can always get more printed.  More to do, Christmas Sale coming up on Nov 17 at the Old Library on the Marylhurst Campus.   Thanks for visiting. Hugs, Cyndee

Coasters in the works

Image
Not finished yet but the doodle part is done.  Just need to put several coats of Mod Podge on them and cork on the back.  Each coaster has an original hand drawn doodle.  No two the same.  They are a fun little project and if I boo boo  I can wipe it off and start again before I put the clear coat on.  I will be posting these to Etsy as soon as they are finished, at least a couple of them.  I think I will sell them individually rather then as a set.  Well off to the grandsons last football game.  They are playing under the lights for their final game.  The sun is shinning but it is chilly out.  I think I will bundle up. See ya soon, thanks for visiting. Hugs Cyndee

Black & White Show at Gallery 360

Image
Only one week left to see the Black and White group show at Gallery 360 in downtown Vancouver.  My piece "No Boundaries" was chosen for the show.  It's one of my larger framed doodles.  I have signed prints available at my Etsy Shop , also titled She Who Doodles . The Gallery also has prints available.  Come check it out and see all the other great black and white entries.  Thanks for visiting. Hugs Cyndee

Etsy Shop

My Etsy Shop is up and running finally.  I'm slowly adding items, so far 4 different Christmas Card designs in 6 packs each.  I will be adding other items shortly as I have them photographed and ready to post. It really takes a bit of time to get all the details,  all the photos, cropped/edited, shipping cost, and then deciding what to say about the item.  I didn't have much luck in the past with my other shop but hopefully I will  be more focused with "Her" since she is one art form instead of many. http://www.etsy.com/shop/SheWhoDoodles I'm working on some shirts, pillows and coasters.  As I finish them I will be posting to my Shop.  Please check back often, and like or share.  I'm trying to build a whole line of She Who Doodles products and hopefully find some shops to carry my stuff.  Then maybe I can retire with some side income. Thanks for visiting. Hugs, Cyndee

Doodle Shirts

Image
I did a little experimenting this weekend with fabric paint pens on t-shirts.  I've been trying to do some designs for shirts on paper but just wasn't getting them big enough so I thought I'd just do it on the shirt.  It was actually kinda fun.  So I went back and bought some more shirts today. Here's the two I did this weekend. She Who Doodles (c) I'm still working on getting my new Etsy Shop up and running.  My first items for sale will be Christmas Cards.   I'll post the link as soon as they are posted. Thanks for visiting. Cyndee
